The mission of the Shenandoah Valley Preparatory Music Program is to provide exemplary musical education through a variety of programming options, reaching students of all ages in the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding regions.
We believe that the arts strengthen our individual lives and our community as a whole, so our vision is to create opportunities for expression, connection, learning, and understanding for our diverse community of students.
SVPM has been an important part of the Shenandoah Valley region since it became part of EMU’s music department in 1988. Participants come from as far north and east as Woodstock and Luray and from as far south as Waynesboro and Lexington. Students also travel from West Virginia.
